Honest, Trustworthy, Respectful and Obedient to parents

What do you know about good morals? Who should have commendable morals?

Moral comes from the Arabic word khuluq which means behavior, character or temperament. In terms of morality, namely the nature of a person, has been attached and will usually be reflected in the behavior of the person. Praiseworthy morality is also known as akhlaql Maheasy or Karimah. Akhlakul karimah for example: patient, honest, humble, generous, polite, persistent, willing to sacrifice, fair, wise, gentle, polite, trusting and others. This time we will discuss about morality.

a). honest nature

What does honest mean? Honesty is a match between the words spoken and the actions taken by someone. That is, someone can be said to be honest if he says something that is in accordance with the truth accompanied by the appropriate action. Getting used to being honest means getting used to doing and telling the truth. Someone who is honest will be loved by Allah and many people. Also will be trusted by others. Humans must adhere to honesty by paying attention to the principle of truth in every action that is faced and carried out. Because honesty is an Islamic teaching. One of the commands to say the truth is explained in Surah at Taubat verse 119

Meaning: O you who believe, fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.

The opposite of honest is a lie. A lie is telling something different from the truth even if it is not intentional. Lying or lying is strictly prohibited in Islam. Lying is a trait of hypocrisy.

Here are some examples of honest traits that can be found in everyday life from the family environment to the wider community.

1). Examples of being honest in the family are telling parents about school exam results even though they get bad grades, returning the shopping money given by parents and being honest when they make mistakes.

2). An example of being honest in a school environment. Honesty can be found when doing assignments or exams without cheating, returning library books on time and telling the truth to friends and teachers.

3). An example of honesty in the community. Examples of being honest can be in the form of obeying traffic signs on the road, receiving a ticket from an officer for his own fault due to violating traffic signs. Provide real information, when someone asks for the address on the street and others. so start being honest with your teachers, brothers and friends. Do what is right and speak what is right. Be a brave person to always be honest.


B). trust

Trust means trustworthy. A trustworthy person is someone who can be trusted to do something. The mandate is applied by the prophets and apostles in the form of always conveying all teachings without being hidden. Prophet Muhammad SAW is an example of a trustworthy person. Before he was appointed as an apostle he had earned the title al-amin, which means: trustworthy. the opposite of amanah is treason, (untrustworthy) trustworthy behavior in everyday life can be realized through the following activities:

1). Keep the deposit and return it to its original state. If we are entrusted with something by someone else, for example, valuable items such as gold, houses, or other items, then we must take care of these items as well as possible. When the deposited item is taken back by the owner, we must return it as usual.

2). Keep secret. If it is trusted by others to keep secrets, be it personal, family or other secrets, it is obligatory for us to keep it so that it does not leak to others.

3). Do not abuse position. Position is a mandate that must be maintained. If we are given a position in any form we must keep that anger. Misuse of office for personal, family, or group interests is a disgraceful act that violates the trust.

4). Preserve all the blessings that have been given by Allah SWT. In the form of: Age, property, knowledge, health and others. All the blessings given by Allah SWT to mankind are a form of trust that must be maintained and utilized as well as possible.


C). respect and obey parents and teachers

1). respect and obey parents

Allah SWT commands humans to always respect and obey their parents. Mother has been struggling to conceive us for about 9 months. Father works to earn sustenance for us day and night. Both of our parents work hard to make their children happy. In return for our kindness to our parents, we must obey and obey them both. Among the ways to do good to parents are:

a). Heed their advice

b). then love them

c). Be polite and courteous

d). Thanking them for raising us with so much love

e). Speak softly and don't speak harshly to them

God commands us to speak with gentle words to our parents. Never yell at them, Say harshly to parents including despicable morals.

F). Pray for them every time they finish performing the fardhu prayers.

"O Allah, forgive me and my parents and have mercy on them as they took care of me when I was little."


2). respect and obey the teacher

Apart from parents. We must also obey and obey the teacher. Teachers are our second parents. Teachers are our parents when we are at school, teachers are people who teach us to read and write in schools or madrasas. The teacher gives us general knowledge and religion. Teachers have a noble position in Islam, teachers have been instrumental in educating and providing useful knowledge to us. Therefore, we must also be respectful and obedient to him. How to be respectful and obedient to the teacher:

a). Give or say hello to the teacher first when you meet

b). Glorifying does not insult or berate the teacher

 c). Come to the place of study sincerely and full of enthusiasm

d). When studying, you should dress neatly and politely

f). Obedient and obedient to the teacher's orders

g). Pay attention to the teacher who is explaining the lesson

h). Show him humility, always be respectful and polite.


D). polite and respect friends

Polite means gentle. Good language and polite behavior. Polite people are usually patient, calm, polite, compassionate, and helpful. While respect means respect, heed and consider important to others. People who don't respect mean people who belittle or don't care about other people. Politeness is not only shown to parents and teachers, but also to our friends. If we are polite to our friends, we will have many friends. Be polite and respect friends, among others:

 1). Say hello and sweet-faced when meeting friends

2). Speak softly and calmly

3). Make friends with anyone without favoritism

4). Don't criticize friends with bad words

5). Saying thank you to friends who have contributed

6). Apologize to a friend if you are wrong or offended

7). Don't take your friends' rights by stealing, robbing and lying

8). Congratulations if friends get achievements
